Provenance Craft Inc.

(2007 - 2011)

President and Principal Designer

  • Designed, marketed and directed the manufacture of custom furniture for exclusive benefactors of many notable charities. Unique designs were constructed using woods of provenance to the individual charity (i.e. harvested from the founder's property or from National Registry of Historic Sites). 20% of proceeds from the sales were tax deductible donations to the specific charity. As of December 2011, $480,000 had been donated.

Vice President - Client Services / Underwriting

  • Managed staff of 40 and led merger and operations of underwriting, policy and claims customer service and marketing for this $85M employee benefits carrier with 99,000 policies, 1,600,000 covered lives and operations in 16 states. Introduced cross marketing strategy, loss control planning and quality control. Developed cross-functional customer managed Internet platform for sales and service. Led product development team for multiple product lines including evaluation of turnkey reinsurance offerings and risk profiling.

  • Developed and directed 15 person national sales force for 17 states including market selection, advertising and creative strategy, performance evaluation, telemarketing and special project marketing.

  • Directed sales and marketing staff of 10 selling six product lines to Brokers and Agents and over 50,000 policyholders. Recruited or cross-promoted 4 of 8 field sales personnel, 3 of whom remain key producers with the company.

  • Won Travel Channel business to design, produce and direct network animation, graphics and music. Wrote, produced and edited on air promotion. Consulted with additional clients for creative execution, budgeting, production, post production and promotion on both retainer and project basis.

  • Directed the overall design and development of network produced programs and all network on-air promotion. Managed the on-air promotion department. Co-managed the acquisition of studio and post-production facilities and designed the technical requirements for these facilities.
